Rustic Bush Inspiration - Australian Wedding

4

This rustic + earth-toned bush wedding in the national park of Noosa was Sarah + Mick’s dream day! Dressed in a Made With Love gown and her gorgeous bridesmaids in Alice McCall white, we fell in love with the images from Bonnie Jenkins (and those flowers by Heavenly Blooms have us pinning our fingers out!). Relaxed and laid back (with a popcorn ceremony exit, a ‘great wedding bake off’ for dessert and romantic lighting everywhere, this day truly was unique to the bride and groom, an overflow of their relationship and passions.

We talked with Sarah about her day, finding out about the venue, the styling, the food and, of course, the emotions:

THE VENUE / The idea of a rustic bush wedding was on the top of our list, and after countless hours looking all over the country for the perfect location, we settled on a local wedding in Noosa national park, followed up with a reception at nearby Verrierdale Hall. It was perfect, and provided us with the flexibility to run our day the way we wanted. We absolutely loved our ceremony. We picked the Noosa National Park as the backdrop for our wedding ceremony as this is a place we often visit to reconnect and escape the daily grind.

THE STYLE / We chose Heavenly Blooms as our florist as we loved Nat’s rustic, romantic and wild use of bush natives, subtle foliages and pops of deep colour. We wanted a relaxed wedding day, and created an environment where all of our guests could mingle, have a little fun and enjoy the best of the Noosa bushland. We were keen to personalise the wedding day as best as we could, and undertook a fair bit of the decorating ourselves and with the help of our amazing bridal party. Mick’s passion for lighting my love of food and our amazing wedding planner ensured everything fell into place smoothly.

THE FOOD / The Wilson Vintage caravan bar alongside The Van Fine Foods truck framed the hall’s reception grounds perfectly, with a ceiling of festoons over the various relaxed lounge settings and bean bags. We invited guests to participate in the “Great Wedding Bake Off” and were overwhelmed with all the amazing goodies laid out on the dessert table!

THE MARRIAGE / We both believe marriage represents a celebration of love, partnership, friendship, respect and a desire for one another beyond all others.  We believe that a person is a sum of their experiences, and marriage creates a shared experience that’s uniquely ours. It will irreversibly define a part of who we are, and we should endeavour to grow and strengthen this bond, drawing on the love and support of those closest to us, for the days, months and years to come.
