First Comes Love (and then marriage!) is a boutique fair for people planning pledges and parties – chock full of sweetness and sass, inspiration and independent retailers. For this inspiration shoot in the lead up to their next event, they wanted to create something for the unique bride. Their venue, Lamont, is typically styled with a color palette of simple greens and whites. Instead, they created a shoot with stunning colour!
Drawing inspiration from a little corner of the Rose Gardens that brings to mind enchanted gardens and fairy tale romances, we wanted to reinvent old-fashioned charm and chivalry for the modern bride.
Strong and confident, with dark hair and handsome features, our bride will be modestly attired and adorned with ornate gold plated jewellery for an air of opulence. As she craves raw, authentic and emotive wedding imagery, this shoot will focus on capturing the chivalrous romance between her and the groom.
To revive this forgotten era of chivalrous courtship in today’s fast-paced digital world of emails and text messaging, where passionately-written love letters and poems are long gone, we would pair gilded accents, intricate detailing and luxurious modern florals with softer and more organic textures, to re-create a lavish baroque-esque affair with a modern & more simplistic twist.
The palette is made up of autumnal purple hues in shades of dusky plums & aubergine paired with soft, moody pastels and gold gilded accents.
