Tay Bassi Creative

Candid and creative wedding photography from a spirited soul. Capturing the kisses and dances, the smiles and the glances.

I’m Taygan, but you can call me Tay. I grew up believing I wanted to be a Fashion photographer – until I became one for Pacific Magazines, one of Australia’s leading companies.

Where was the emotion, the moments, the excitement of creating something to be cherished? Rather than forgotten after next months issue.

Now don’t get me wrong, I still love it, but it was then I realised I needed something with a lot more heart – people I can connect with and laugh with, people I can capture moments from and turn them in to tangible memories.

I don’t follow any stock standard wedding checklists – I capture what I feel is important, and the moments as they unfold. I’ll never make you repeat something 5 times, or stand in awkward school-prom-worthy poses and touch noses – I’ll just encourage you to bring out your unique and loving selves, then be there to snap it when the magic happens. I want to get to know you and get an understanding of what is important to you, because every couple is different, and no two days are the same, so why would I photograph them the same?

Lets catch up for a coffee or cocktail – your choice – to see if I’m the right fit for your day! After all, I’m basically your shadow for most of it, so we really do have to get along :) If you’re after someone down to earth, creative, quirky (okay okay, -dorky-) and generally someone who will actually care, then shoot me an email!

  • What gets you out of bed in the morning? To be honest... my cat demanding breakfast.
  • What is your best advice to couples planning their wedding? Remember, it's YOUR day. If you don't like traditions, don't do them! Don't want to invite that cousin you've seen once in 10 years? Then don't.
Your friends and family are great for advice, but never let them sway you from what YOU really want.
  • Where did your passion for what you do start? Visual arts, like painting and sculpting. I still enjoy creating things with my hands, Photography just gave me a way to link my imagination and creativity to the real world!
