In love with your story…

Hi there!

I’m Sophie, and I’m in love with your story already, because it’s uniquely you, and even the smallest of details makes me smile from ear-to-ear!

I can’t wait to meet you, I can’t wait to hear all about you, and your story, and your lives, and the things that you love in life and each other. I can’t wait to see it all unfolding in front of me, in front of my lens – the rush that comes over me in catching all of your moments – the big, the understated, the fleeting – I cannot describe that feeling in words alone, but you’ll see it on my face, you’ll hear it in my voice, and you’ll see in it your photos – I just cannot get enough. I can’t wait to lay out the story of your day before you in beautiful images, I can’t wait to show you the things that I see; all of your beauty, your nuances, your connections, your details, the subtle touches, your love…

My approach is natural and relaxed. I have a real appreciation for beautiful, fine-art imagery as well as a degree in Photojournalism, and I mix these two practices together when I photograph. It’s real, but it’s beautiful. Your portrait session is comfortable and easy; there’s a lot of laughs, a lot of love, and often times a good little adventure in the mix!

I see it as the greatest honour to be asked to step into your world for the day, to be a part of it, to be able to know you and photograph you – I am constantly humbled by every single person that I get to meet, by every single story that I get to tell – it is incredible and I am so thankful, and I would love to meet you, too.

You’ve got the story, I’ve got the camera – lets make something amazing together!

  • My favourite dance floor jam is... I can't leave a wedding until Whitney's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" has been belted out - mostly by me - in the thick of your dancefloor party.
  • If you were an animal, which would best describe you? Definitely a puppy. You'll see the resemblance mostly when you (brides) get into your wedding dress, or during your couples shoot when you're being ridiculously beautiful as a pair... I do a lot of happy squeals and happy dances and waving of hands as if it were my tail. I'm like an excited puppy over your wedding day. And also, dogs are the best, am I right?
  • What do you love most about what you do? Fundamentally, I enjoy giving. Being a wedding photographer involves a lot of give, it's so much more than 'just taking photos on the wedding day' and I am very blessed to be able to do so, it's a real joy.
  • In my spare time I love collecting... At risk of sound cliche - old cameras. Except they don't just sit on my shelf and bask in their own antique glory - I make them work for that place on the shelf; I take them out and put rolls of film through them and thoroughly enjoy their quirks and flaws. They're family members as much as my shiny working cameras are.
