Natural and candid photography & video of life’s milestones

  • What do you love most about what you do? Capturing the most meaningful moments that people get to experience in life.
It's such an intense and unique job, you really get caught up in the excitement of the day. We find ourselves smiling during the 'i do's' and laughing along with the guests during speeches. Love is awesome and each wedding gives us the same nervous excitement that I remember feeling on my own wedding day.
  • What gets you out of bed in the morning? Our toddler decides when it's time to start the day, he is king.
  • What is your advice for a healthy, long lasting relationship? Mutual kindness always. Physical affection every day and eye contact! Giving each other the benefit of the doubt when times get tough, and assuming the best intentions from your other half.
  • Where did your passion for what you do start? Both Matt and I have always had a need to make art. Matt is an exhibiting artist and I first met him at a photography studio where he and I worked together on an exhibition. Our passion for photography started for both of us the first time we saw a film negative come to life through the chemicals in a dark room.

While we don't shoot much film any more that initial sense of wonderment we had when we saw our fist image appear through the enlarger is still there when we sit down and look at the images we've taken at a wedding.
We'll both be sitting looking at the images getting really excited saying "Oh wow look at this one!" Being able to do this for our couples is also really exciting, when we are editing we think about the goose bumps they'll have reliving the day through our work and thats so rewarding.

I truly believe that the process of creating helps us understand ourselves and find a place in the world, whatever that might be to each person.
To me, photography helps me see the more beautiful world that exists in my head. You know that feeling when time kind of passes by and your in the zone.. that's what I feel like when I'm making art.

Both Matt and I hold a Masters Degree, Matt also works in advertising as an editor and photographer and I am also an occupational therapist and I use art and image making in therapy.
