Film Wedding Photographer

Hi There!

My name is Czar. I am a wedding photographer based out of Southern California, but open to travel anywhere your love story will take me. Outdoorsy, adventurous, fun-loving couples are my absolute favorite to photograph. If that sounds like you, please get in touch. I would love to talk with you about your wedding day!

Shooting film has change my process of making photographs. I’m far more focused and detail oriented, and I love the way my many cameras encourage me to see the day. The colors and tones that film produces are effortlessly beautiful. And to top it off, post-processing is generally a breeze! What’s not to love?

This all sounds a bit selfish, and it very well may be. But I love making photographs. I love witnessing the beauty of two people committing their lives to one another, capturing that, as well as all of the details that give me insight to the people I am blessed to be connected with. I truly am fortunate to get to relive that experience time and time again.

Thank you for stopping by. I looking forward to hearing from you!

All the best,

Czar

  • What do you love most about what you do? I'm constantly immersed in a world of creativity. I get to work regularly with wonderful stylists, florist, calligraphy artists, bakers, and couples. A lot of work goes into the aesthetics of a wedding and I'm exposed to new ideas and beautiful settings constantly. Not only that, I get to capture it with a camera!
  • What gets you out of bed in the morning? The prospect of what I could create on a given day. Shooting a wedding, working on a styled shoot, or creating memories with my wife, Jessica, and our puppies, Ali and Darcy.
  • Where did your passion for what you do start? I photographed a wedding for a couple of friends in 2015, and cried (man tears, of course) when they read their vows to one another - I was hooked. The vow exchange is always such a powerful part of the wedding, and I love hearing those stories, those dreams, and those promises.
  • What is your advice for a healthy, long lasting relationship? Self-reflection. Think about how you can be/do better - for yourself, your partner, and your family.
  • What is your best advice to couples planning their wedding? Do it as a team. Take your time discussing locations, wants, needs, decor, invitees, and even what your plans are for after the wedding. Be sure to take breaks as well.

Then, when the time comes to book a photographer, call me!
  • The most romantic location in Australia is... I don't know yet, but I'd love to find it. If you're getting married in Australia, I'd love to come along!
