Pete The Celebrant

Melbourne Wedding Celebrant

Pete is one of Melbourne’s youngest celebrants who lives in Eltham with his wife Grace and three adorable (tho sometimes crazy) daughters. When he’s not with them or masterfully crafting your ceremony, he can be found listening to podcasts, audiobooks and dabbling in one of his many hobbies (home made honey anyone?!).

His speciality is to mix light humour and sentimentality to capture the richness of your relationship. He’s perfect at keeping the ceremony natural and authentic, putting you and your wedding guests at ease as they participate in celebrating your beautiful commitment.

Sitting with Pete to craft your story, vows and runsheet is like spending time with a close friend as he genuinely cares about who you are and making your wedding day exceptional! Pete’s ability to connect with couples is such that guests are often left asking ‘how long have you been best friends with Pete for?!’

If you want an easy, engaging and relatable celebrant to make your day and the journey towards it better than you hoped – Pete is the celebrant for you!

  • What do you love most about what you do? Getting to meet and learn about couples for their weddings in Melbourne and beyond is one my greatest joys! I love the chance to discover their personal and combined stories over a coffee, beer or wine at our favourite cafes and bars.
  • What gets you out of bed in the morning? Screaming daughters haha!
  • Where did your passion for what you do start? My story is a little different than most celebrants. I began marrying friends in 2011 when I was a Youth Pastor at a church in Richmond. I enjoyed officiating my friend’s Melbourne weddings – it’s incredible being up there with them in such a significant moment.
5 years later, with a growing family, I found myself ready for a new tempo and discovered civil celebrancy was that glorious change. While I don’t promote religious weddings (unless requested), I’ve discovered a lot of couples appreciate that I bring that tradition and public speaking skills with me.
  • What is your advice for a healthy, long lasting relationship? Be real and honest, fight fair and seek to understand your partner first before being understood.
  • What is your best advice to couples planning their wedding? Pick a great celebrant...I know one :)
  • The most romantic movie of all time is... Notting Hill...every time #teary
  • In my spare time I love collecting... Honey!
