Flint at Shaw Vineyard

Flint is a beautiful rustic wedding venue located in the picturesque country side of Murrumbateman, just 30 minutes from Canberra.

At Flint, we know that your wedding day is a very special occasion, the most important day of your lives, so we will endeavour to make this as enjoyable and effortless as possible for you both. ¬†Flint is located in cool climate wine country, Murrumbateman. It is located 30 minutes from central Canberra and is a picturesque drive from the city. Flint resides on the Shaw Vineyard Estate, a boutique winery established in 1998 on “Olleyville”, a 700 acre fine wool producing property established in the mid 1800’s. This historic property is reminiscent of a scene from Tuscany. The terracotta building is perched amongst the undulating vineyard and Anne Shaw’s delicate rose garden. Flint has two areas to choose from for your reception, indoors in our spacious dining room or outdoor dining on the terrace. Both options have magnificent views of the vineyard and the surrounding grounds that have a rustic charm. We also have several options for holding your ceremony on site. We would be happy to discuss this with you should you be interested. There is ample parking at the venue as well as the option to arrange a private charter for your guests into and out of Murrumbateman. We would also be happy to recommend accommodation options in the region as well as other associated services for your wedding. We are here to make this a memorable occasion for you. For more information or to arrange a time to view the venue contact us on 02 6227 5144 Wednesday through to Sunday or email [email protected]

  • What do you love most about what you do? As the Weddings & Events manager at Flint at Shaw Vineyard, my favourite part of my job is seeing my bride and groom enter their reception venue as husband and wife for the first time. I love seeing their eyes light up as they see all their nearest and dearest cheering for them. I love seeing their smile as they see their reception, a space they have spent months working on, complete and beautiful, a true reflection on them as a couple.
  • What gets you out of bed in the morning? What gets me out of bed in the morning... To be completely honest, my cat, who has taken to pawing my face until I get up and feed her.
  • Where did your passion for what you do start? My passions for weddings started as a young 18 year old who had just landed a new job in a gorgeous wedding venue. I fell in love with weddings and the amazing vibe they brought. I started hoarding wedding magazines, studying event styling and management, and it all just spiralled from there!
  • What is your advice for a healthy, long lasting relationship? My advice to a healthy and long lasting relationship would have to be... Focus on each other, as in the end, that is all you will have. Don't fight with your partner because he can't see the point in spending $5,000 on florals for your wedding, or because he hasn't cleaned the kitchen or hung the washing out.

No matter what, love each other, be a team, be each others first priority, and make each other tea, because you always will love someone that makes you tea.
  • What is your best advice to couples planning their wedding? My only real advice is don't stress over what you can't control. This applies to budget, weather, guests not being able to make it, and dates not working for every guest.
And don't focus more on the wedding then what you do on each other.
  • The most romantic movie of all time is... The Notebook, every time.
  • In my spare time I love collecting... Memories, moments, photos, laughs and tea pots. All the good things in life.
