Winter Engagement in the hills of NZ

2

Jessie and Jordan’s engagement shoot is SO beautiful. It was an absolutely freezing evening, but what a great excuse to get those wonderful, intimate cuddles. We shot in the hills above Christchurch making our way around the tops, chasing that fabulous winter light. These two are stunning souls with a love for each other that just radiates around them, it was such a pleasure to shoot this kind of magic.

How do you think marriage will change your relationship?

More and more sacrifice, in a good way. Simply, the realisation that we are a in a committed team, for the rest of our lives!

What do you most look forward to about your wedding?

Everything! Having all of our favourite people with us, the food and getting ready in the morning. I personally can’t wait to see Jordan all teary eyed at the church… as much as he might deny it, it’s going to happen!!

What special ways do you express your love to each other?

To be honest, it’s all the little things… from the few words of encouragement on those tough days at work to the cuddles and banter at night time! Jordan loves his gifts (and words)… so I try buy little things for him every once and a while. Whereas I (Jessie) am all about the affirmation and hugs! It’s about recognising what the other person needs! And we are definitely still learning/ willing to learn which is the main thing! We also like to do things for each other that make life feel a bit easier.

What are your favourite ways to spend time together?

Going on camping trips!! Pack the tent, the camping chairs and tramping boots… We love being in the outdoors! Surfing, tramping and eating food… can’t beat it!

What’s your relationship advice for couples planning their big day?

At the end of the day, you are still each other’s best friend and you are on the same team. Oh, and definitely start your wedding planning by making a budget! Then you have something to keep you accountable when you’re making decisions.

What’s the best relationship advice anyone has given you?

It’s a tie… Forgive each other and remember love is a choice; My grandad passed away only two months ago and he said, “Life is full of challenges so learn to love each other every day… The stronger you love, the easier the challenge.”
