Wildly Vibrant and Creative Wedding Films - Volcano Sunday

0

One look at Volcano Sunday’s portfolio and you know this isn’t your standard wedding videography business. The team is quirky, fun, and perfectly complement one another as they make wedding film after wedding film that leave you speechless. Creative doesn’t even come close to describe the way they portray weddings - Keira and Sam’s wedding is the perfect example. We were mesmerised by it - the style, the vibe, the music, the moments. Married on a sun-soaked day in the Hunter Valley in an old school church with a vintage style gown.

We sat down with Creative Director Joel to ask about the heart behind the business:

What was your inspiration for the business? We have been creating wedding films for over 10 years through our mother brand, La Lune Cinema, and as those films begun to drift in to the high end market we decided we missed all the crazy, young (or not so young) couples doing something intimate or creative. We knew we could bring that depth to offer couples something wildly vibrant, without sacrificing on the professional sensibilities. So we did, and Volcano Sunday is that love child.

How did you go about starting up? We agonised for so long over names, branding and artwork. In the end we decided to let the focus we had put into crafting the first films dictate the rest of Volcano Sunday’s vibes. We got extremely fussy as usually but the end result is something we are very proud of. We also were blessed with a few amaaazing couples that really got the Volcano vibes and loved the most unique things about our films, like the VHS, so their weddings were just perfect.

What are you offering that is different from the rest? Volcano comes from a young studio team that has been still been operating for over 10 years. You are getting a rare mix of something youthful and unique, but also professionally produced.

What do you love about your job? We basically get to connect with new people on a very big deal day for them. That’s amazing when you think about it.

Tell us about your favourite experience as a business owner? Someone told me the other day that their wedding film saved their marriage (tear emoji).

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the industry? Don’t compare yourself to anybody else, do your thing, do what you think is cool and that will resonate more strongly than any attempt at what you think the market wants.

Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty love story of Keiralee + Sam:

Keira: “Darling Sam, I pray for our marriage to always reflect the ultimate love we’ve been given, one that is unconditional and unwavering, fierce and constantly pursuing. Through our marriage, I hope that rather than fleeting happiness, that we will seek pure joy with one another, knowing that what we hold is so much more precious than anything else in this world. With you, I will watch the walls of hardship crumble as we continue to walk around them hand in hand. I choose to love you, to know you and to keep my eyes not on the things around us, but on the steadfast love that has already overcome all that we will ever face.”

Sam: To my darling Keira, My heart for our marriage, our relationship, is to never allow a day to pass by, without discovering something new that I love about you. Women are complex beings, it’s true, so I’ve got a lifetime of mysteries to unlock, and I couldn’t think of anyone I’d rather do that with. You are special and unique, fearfully and wonderfully made, and my hope is that our marriage will be a reflection of the love that first loved us. That no matter what life throws at us, we’ll find the time every day to invest into that, and find joy in the little things.
