“This editorial was created to depict the simple beauty of a bride preparing for her spring elopement in Vancouver, BC. We wanted it to feel effortless, elegant and attainable for couples planning a destination elopement and with this in mind, we kept the details simple, uncluttered and the focus on the meaning of the event without all the distractions of the usual ‘wedding sparkle’. The bride’s hair and makeup is polished but understated, her flowers are stunning but not over the top, and her unique gown, complete with a detachable cape, has been chosen to show her modern, minimalist, personal style.

The in between moments of a wedding day are special and we wanted to show this from the perspective of the bride. From walking up the stairs to her Vancouver Airbnb, to breaking a rustic loaf of local bread for breakfast, writing her vows and getting dressed. On the day of her elopement a bride would feel excited, joyful and perhaps reflective as she set out to meet her love. She has a beautiful secret she is about make official—An elopement is such an intimate celebration of two people in love and we wanted to capture this.

In keeping with our ‘less is more’ approach to this editorial, we chose a small team of vendors to keep the collaboration personal and uncluttered. Often wedding editorial collaborations can present as ‘wedding product’ showcases, and we wanted the collaboration, like an elopement, to feel sincere, intimate and real. Voila! We hope you enjoy the images.”
