Twilight Country Love

Brisbane wedding planner and stylist, Sugared Style, shares inside thoughts and emotions on their recent styled shoot at Spicers Hidden Vale.

“The inspiration for the shoot stemmed from a desire to use the outdoor spaces at Spicers Hidden Vale. I previously dreamed of a suspended bridal table and this was the ideal opportunity to bring this to life in the grass and open field at Spicers. Against the dark timber of the structure and the long grass, a soft colour palette was ideal. I also chose to go with a neutral colour palette because it is classic and does not date, something I encourage brides to consider. Copper cutlery, geometric vases, and hanging pieces give the look an edge to it. I love the mix of the copper and grey tones.

“Within the ceremony area there is a magnificent tree, so when considering a backdrop I wanted something to compliment and not overpower the natural beauty of the space. We built a piece that resembled a fireplace surround and finished with a flower range full of texture at different heights. We chose flower species that are not used frequently. The bride’s cascading bouquet that is whimsical and unstructured was something I had dreamed of creating and I love the finished product. Finishing the space with a dark timber chair was a simple choice as it gives the space depth.”
