Tabitha + Stewart: Married in the heart of home

3

Following their ceremony, Tabitha + Stewart hit the streets of Newcastle to celebrate the special day with gelato and cute dog walks. Follow them through the streets with pics below by Lauren Anne Johns, and witness the homely bliss between them both.

Tell us about your proposal.

We had five days of holidaying time in Hawaii, after Stew competed in the world paddle boarding championships, and one day we decided to climb KoKo (a volcano). Once we arrived, it started to pour rain, and we came across signs saying trespassers will be prosecuted, but I had researched this walk and expected this and begged to push on! Finally we were forced to give up and turn around as the path was blocked with heavy water flowing through. I sadly turned around and starting making my way back, when I lost Stew!

I couldn’t see a thing and I eventually heard his voice. There he was, one tree away from me on one knee in the mud, with the most amazing ring I have ever seen in his hand. Naturally I started crying and shaking, and could not believe this day had finally come! I could not have hoped for anything more.

How did you know your partner was the one?
When you get through some really tough times together, and you still love them more than ever, you know you will be right for the rest of your life.

What do you love most about your partner?
Tabitha: How kind, caring and protective he is of me. He also never gives up on me, no matter how many times I let him down.

Stewart: How she always makes me laugh and there is never a dull moment… As well as her eyes and smiles. I remember when I first saw her, I thought she was the best looking girl I’ve ever seen – 10 years on, I still do.

What was your favourite part of the wedding day?
Walking down the isle was honestly the best thing ever; seeing everyone I cared about and I was so excited to marry Stew!

Describe your wedding theme.
Easy going, no hassle.

What was your favourite detail?

Our puppies got to be there on the day.

What is marriage to you?

A commitment to someone that you will always be by their side, no matter what, for the rest of your lives.
