Reverie by Paolo Sebastian

In its tenth year, couture house Paolo Sebastian introduces the Paolo Sebastian Autumn / Winter 2017-18 collection, Reverie. Inspired by the Art Nouveau movement, particularly the work of Alphonse Mucha, the collection explores the concept of the goddess-like muse: ethereal, mystical and entranced by a daydream. Featuring a rich colour palette of antique gold, pale rose and slate, the pieces embrace a juxtaposition of textures including opulent velvet, tailored wool cashmere and delicate Chantilly lace. Accents include metallic bead work, raw edge detailing and ornate embroidery with a strong emphasis on leaf and floral motifs. A slate blue coat features intricate Art Nouveau inspired embroidery, whilst panelling provides structure to a delicate rose Chantilly lace gown. Ball gown skirts feature scene embroidery of goddesses and cherubs, complementing a dramatic finale ball gown adorned with hand-painted golden flowers and leaves.
