What’s In a Name….Audrey & Angus

3

Names are essential…everything has a name and a meaning and it’s fascinating to learn why and how certain things - especially our dear vendors - end up with the names they do. The passionate and creative Lauren from gorgeous event hire and styling company Audrey & Angus Weddings & Events, gets down to the nitty gritty and shares how her baby got it’s name…

“Well, it does have quite as story but I love that about the name.  This was something that I wanted from the start…..something a little quirky that was memorable and had a story to tell.

“From when I was little girl I have always had a fascination and love for the remarkable Audrey Hepburn. I collected her biographies, films and art and always admired her for her natural beauty, iconic style, poise, elegance and that classic Hollywood aura. My favourite films are ‘My Fair Lady’, your typical rags to riches fairy-tale, and ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’, which I call the original Pretty Woman. Everything that you think and feel when you mention the name Audrey Hepburn is what I wanted people to think and feel when they engaged with my company – in what it stands for as well as in the delivery of my work: Classic, Elegant, Graceful, Timeless, Effortless, Stylish, Beautiful. All of these things are represented by the ‘AUDREY’ part of the name.

“‘ANGUS’ took a little longer to get to. While I loved everything that AUDREY represented, there was another side that was missing – a little quirky, unpredictable & fun side. I literally had a light bulb moment when ANGUS popped into my head. Angus was my first family puppy, an odd looking little Skye Terrier who had more personality than he knew what to do with. He perfectly represented the playful, fun, unpredictable, personality, energy and uniqueness that I wanted to communicate through my business.

“So that was it… both AUDREY & ANGUS, and what they represent, contrast and complement each other. Together they sum up so perfectly the philosophy of Audrey & Angus.”

Amazing. And just when we thought we couldn’t love her any more…x
