Natasha + Martin: Autumn romance

Natasha and Martin had been together for eight years when they went on a holiday to Europe. When visiting the Palace of Versailles, Martin suggested the two of them take a row boat out on the grand canal behind the main gardens. While Natasha took in the view, Martin got down on one knee and asked her to become his wife.

Knowing they didn’t want a traditional cookie cutter wedding, the couple were determined to put a modern twist on their wedding, starting with quirky invitations designed by Martin.

“As an animator Marty decided he would do an old school flip book animation as the invite for all our guests. He designed and animated little cartoon versions of ourselves watering a tree that grows up around them into a heart shape with leaves that change to autumn colours to match our theme. We then had to print out hundreds and hundreds of pages, each individual frames of the animation, cut them to size and bind them into a flip book with a cover and sleeved box, all with custom artwork. A huge job but worth it in the end!”

The pair celebrated their special day with an intimate and personal ceremony and reception, perfectly captured by Free the Bird photography.
