Laura + Mitch: A Glittery, Vintage Wedding

1

The ‘ingredients’ needed for a happy marriage are not only just romance, chemistry and mutual interests, but a strong sense of friendship, trust and understanding. What began as a close friendship in high school, the relationship between Mitch and Laura soon progressed into something ‘more’. The two high school sweethearts have not only experienced all that a friendship has to offer, but the foundation for which a strong bond occurs – one that is sure to last a lifetime. Ever since the newlyweds tied the knot, Mitch and Laura have committed themselves to experience everything that marriage has to offer as they ride through life together.

HOW DID YOU KNOW YOUR PARTNER WAS THE ONE?

Mitch: “I knew because I knew. Our strong friendship developed soon after we met in high school into something more. We have grown together and understand each other on many levels.”

Laura: “We are so different, but so alike, it just works. We have stayed committed to each other for nine years throughout all the changes of high school, uni, moving out and experiencing everything together. Plus, he never interrupts my Miley Cyrus jams in the car.”

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR PARTNER?

Mitch: “The thing I love most about Laura is how genuine and real she is. She speaks her mind and is passionate and thoughtful.”

Laura: “Mitch is extremely kind and giving, but also speaks his mind which I like. I love his funky dance moves and strange sense of humour. We have so much fun together.”

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE WEDDING DAY?

Mitch: “The moment Laura walked into the chapel. It was an overwhelming feeling, but it felt like the whole purpose we were there for.”

Laura: “My favourite part of the day was having our photos taken after the ceremony. The lead up to the ceremony is so crazy, it was nice to have an hour or so together just to realize…I’m a wife!”

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING THEME

Laura: “Our wedding theme was anything pastel, glittery and involved animals. Mitch drew the line with fluff so I had to keep that exclusive to the pom poms I had attached to my wedding dress. We are huge animal lovers and even featured photos of our cat in the photo booth.”

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE DETAIL?

Mitch: “My favourite detail was our doughnut cake. You could say I’m a doughnut fan.”

Laura: “Our cake toppers definitely. Cats are life so it was purrfect!”

WHAT IS MARRIAGE TO YOU?

Mitch: “Marriage is both a celebration and an ‘official’ commitment of our relationship with each other, which we were lucky enough to share with everyone at our wedding.”

Laura: “I think marriage is finding someone who makes you happy, angry, laugh and cry; who you can feel all those emotions with, and decide to ride through life together.”
