That's Not A Tent…

5

Katalane tents are not your average run-of-the-mill marquee company; they specialise in the hire and assembly of the charming and extraordinary Giant Nordic Event Tents known as Katas, a beautiful alternative to using a marquee. These Katas are a unique Tepee-style tent originating from the Sami people of northern Scandinavia.

Based in Sydney, Katalane is made up of a delightfully eclectic mix of employees. Backgrounds range from the building trade right through to the fashion industry, giving them a combined wealth of knowledge to answer your queries, and more importantly to assure you that they will have your event up and running on time, safely and securely. Like us,  Katalane love a good road trip so don’t be shy to ask them to travel; they service NSW and beyond.

The Katas are very unique and flexible in that they have a patented linking system, allowing them to be joined together in unlimited combinations and numbers to suit your event. They are designed to withstand the harshest of conditions yet still show their beautiful and natural appearance. All Katas are hand made out of primarily natural materials sourced in Sweden.

There are two types of Kata Tents for hire. The first and biggest Kata is the Giant Kataor or Giant Hat as it is referred to. The second is the Kungsörnen.

Giant Hat

As a single tent it can hold 100 guest for a stand-up cocktail reception and 72 for a sit down dinner. With  the sides down its diameter is 10.3metres. However, the sides of the tent can be raised to form a brim, which gives free air circulation and shade during hot days. It will also increase the diameter to 13metres accommodating up to 128 guests seated. Of course you can join these together to form bigger spaces, as your event requires.

Kungsörnen

This is a smaller tent but can still accommodate 40 people seated. It can also be connected to the Giant Hat for some extra space. For example it can be used as a chill out area, lounge, greeting area or catering tent.

Both these Katas can also safely accommodate open fireplaces, ideal for a winter wedding! The open fireplace is designed especially for these tents and it provides great warmth in those cooler months whilst creating a wonderful atmosphere for your celebration.
