Kanyini – An Epic Collaboration

When our dear friends at Twig & Grace contacted us with this heavenly short film for which they’d created the floral magic, we were quite literally rendered speechless. There’s nothing words can add to something so visually complete as Kanyini, a film by Nick Rieve from The White Tree in collaboration with avante-garde bridal couturier, Suzanne Harward.

“Kanyini is an Aboriginal Australian word meaning connectedness through caring and responsibility,” Nick tells us. “I really tried to show this by keeping the shoot uncluttered, clean and simple.”

The stars of the film are Amy Madden & Jarryd Madden, dancers with The Australian Ballet Company and their relationship between one other and the land has been exquisitely captured, and punctuated by Suzanne’s breathtaking work. The film was even featured as part of RUSSH Magazine’s VAMFF FFS TOP 10 and has been selected for fashion’s biggest film festival, the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival.

We can’t do it justice with our words, so watch it here and lose yourself in the beauty of this Great Southern Land.
