Intimate Woodlands Elopement with Bohemian Romance

1

Intimate and quiet, this woodlands elopement is the ultimate inspiration for a bride who loves bohemian romance and a whole lot of adventure (we’re talking walking under waterfalls and getting your dress dirty). We are so excited to finally be sharing this collaboration we did with The Woodlands House, Lovely Bride and Athena and Camron last week! The Woodlands House could just be the most beautiful intimate wedding venues we’ve ever seen. We wanted to show what an elopement here would be like, to inspire more Pacific Northwest brides to opt for an intimate wedding (if you haven’t read our recent article about Minimalist Guest Lists, you’ll want to!).

The first time we went there it was like we learned what real quietness is - the quiet of an untouched forest with no signal, with only birds and rustling trees to hear. You drive down a long windy driveway in thick forest until you see a gorgeous brown house completely tucked away in trees. It is HUGE (we’re not exaggerating), and every room has stunning bohemian decor. With three levels and a ton of bedrooms, we could easily picture the home full of wedding guests spilling onto the deck under the Oregon stars.

Beginning the morning with a fire and tea (Gregory’s cup actually had whiskey in it, but that’s beside the point), Anna + Greg curled up on the couch and we took the morning really slow. For the late afternoon ceremony we used a gorgeous macrame piece from Ferns And Fiber as a backdrop for their ‘vows,’ which in reality were spontaneous sentences of affection to each other ;)

Wearing the stunning new Lake Gown from the Lovers Society collection, it perfectly suited Anna. The slip gown was form fitted, with panelling to flatter every figure. Gorgeous worn on it’s own, Anna opted to wear the matching lace blouse, which sat over the shoulder and finished at the waist, exposing the low back of the gown and showcasing the full skirt and train. Stocked at our favorite, Lovely Bride, it was so much fun to work with them to showcase a gown perfect for the modern boho bride (with a bit of adventure in her heart!).

It began pouring on us so we went back into the warmth of the house before getting in the car and driving 40 minutes north to Latourell Falls, the same falls that Anna + Greg had their first look and wedding photos at on their own wedding day! And we got COMPLETELY soaked - Anna and Greg were brave enough to go out to a large rock Anna had avoided on her wedding day but “I’m not going to be the kind of bride that avoids getting wet today” and she did it (and we are SO glad because the image is epic!).
