Alison + Matt wanted a wedding that felt like a big party they were hosting at their house. After discovering Mindaribba House in the beautiful Hunter Valley they fell in love with the grounds and envisioned a backyard party with all of their family and friends. Captured by Lauren Anne Photography, the two said I do in the garden before celebrating their marriage in a reception full of gorgeous white + green styling! If you love rustic yet simple aesthetics, this party was on point!
How did you know he was the one?
He is my best friend, the person I want to share all my memories with, laugh with, cry with and everything in between. He adores me, everyday telling me I’m beautiful. And, he still gets excited every time I come home and walks through the door, greeting me with a big smile and “beautiful”!! Matt is honest, surprisingly sensitive and generous. He looks after me and adores me!
What was your favourite part of the wedding day?
There are so many parts of the day that I loved. It was everything we wanted and more. The speeches were beautiful, laughing, crying and sharing special memories with all our family and friends. And the reception was very much us, relaxed and fun. Most of the night spent outside in the beautiful gardens and by the outdoor pool.
The food was incredible, we had a grazing table, canapé’s, banquet dinner and then dessert accompanied by Espresso Martini’s. Then after the reception was over and all the guests left, the bridal party jumped into the pool and kept partying, with the bridesmaids jumping in in their dresses! (I did not follow them!)
What is marriage to you?
It is knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. That I will never feel alone. That I will always feel love in my life. I have someone that will always be in my corner….
