Genna + Matt

Genna and Matt worked together for several years before they started seeing each other. They became quite good friends who got along really well, always enjoying a laugh together. Gemma jokes that she would have also had him as her bridesmaid at her wedding if she could … they have that close a friendship! That calm and ease around each other made it obvious to the pair that they would end up marrying. “He is my best friend in every way. Spending time with him is easy. He always compliments me and makes me feel good about myself,” says Gemma. Read on to find out how Matt popped the question, and scroll down a bit further to see their refined wedding at the Hunter Valley, captured by Ben Adams.

“The proposal was very unexpected. Matt has always liked buying me gifts for no reason, so when I got home from work one Friday afternoon there was a brand new clutch and some flowers. The next morning I woke up and breakfast was ready for me along with a new pair of heels so I started to think something might be happening. I went to netball and all the girls were thinking the same thing. We went for dinner that night to Bistro Molines in the Hunter Valley and nothing happened; we drove home and I fell asleep in the car. Got home and still nothing. So I got changed into my pjs, took my hair out and my make up off, walked back into the loungeroom to watch some tv and there were rose petals all over the floor and Matt was down on one knee. I was so shocked because I went through the whole day thinking something was going to happen.”
