Tell us about your proposal. I had suspicions that Kris was going to ask as he was acting very weird the whole day. Kris organised a lunch & tour at Sirromet Winery for my birthday. He had planned to pop the question while at Sirromet but the weather was pretty miserable so he held off. That night we went into Southbank to have dessert and were walking along the river. This is where Kris dropped to one knee, gave a bit of a speech on how much he loves me and how much I mean to him then asked me to marry him with the ring in his hand.

How did you know your partner was the one? Kris and I first dated when we were quite young so we had history. When we met up again years later I knew that he was something special. I had never thought about my future with someone or settling down until I met Kris. I knew after dating for a few months that I wanted spend the rest of my life with him.

What do you love most about your partner? I love that Kris makes me laugh, makes me feel safe and he is my sense of home. His caring loving nature and that he always puts others before himself. He always tells me how beautiful I am no matter if I have a full face of makeup on or am a sweaty mess with no makeup on at all. I also love that he is going to make such an amazing dad in a few short months.

What was your favourite part of the wedding day? The whole day was a fairytale but walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Kris smiling/tearing up at the end was by far my favourite part. It’s not often you have everyone you love in the same spot at the same time so it was truly something special to celebrate our day with everyone and to see how much everyone was enjoying themselves was really nice.

Describe your wedding theme/style. We didn’t really have a particular theme or style but I guess you could say it was fresh, modern with a bit of rustic. I knew when styling the reception I had to have the hanging foliage with the Edison style light bulbs after seeing it for another wedding - just added a different feel to the room that I loved.

We wanted to mix it up a bit with our programs and have something fun & different so we did the chatterboxes which turned out really well.

For the flowers I loved the fresh look of white flowers with greenery and adding the Magnolia leaves in broke it all up nicely. We were so lucky with the weather and it shows in our photos – was a beautiful spring day and everything ran so smoothly, couldn’t of been more perfect.

What is marriage to you? Marriage is the ultimate commitment to your one true love and declaring your love for one another in front of all your friends and family. It’s spending the rest of your life with that one person, facing all of life’s challenges together and never feeling alone. A big one for me also was sharing my husband’s last name and when it came time that we would start a family I would have the same name as my children. It’s also about waking up beside your best friend every day.
