Foraged florals - Celebrating the eco beauty of water-wise foraged styling

2

Foraged florals are the new way weddings can save the planet! This gorgeous styled shoot by a small team of vendors in the Western Cape of South Africa, this shoot was a beautiful way to celebrate the the unexpected beauty of the current drought they are experiencing in their area. With amazing photography by Angelique Smith and styling + dried flowers by Paradiso Flowers, this is such an interesting and inspiring shoot. Focusing on ways show brides how they can have gorgeous, earthy, rustic wedding styling without the costly ramifications on the environment (or, in this case, if the environment isn’t providing them what they need!).

Angelique said, “To make it proudly South African we collaborated with a local furniture designer, a ceramicist who drew inspiration from the topography of our mountains for the patterns on the plates and a shoemaker who specializes in crafting the original “vellie” that is unique to South Africa. The idea behind the shoot is to make all the expats who miss their home country remember a bit of our beautiful country when planning an elopement. It’s a water-wise foraged option which is becoming important all over the world for those aware of their carbon footprint.
