For the gents

“A groom and his mates, we think, are just as important as a bride and her girlfriends. After conducting our own research on high-quality inspiration for the groom and his crew (and finding none!), the concept for our styled shoot was born.”

Wedding planners Coco + Confetti thought it was high time to get the boys into the spotlight in the lead-up to the wedding. And what better way to do it than through a styled shoot complete with whisky, cigars and a caravan bar?

“We wanted to highlight some of the ways that a groom could spoil his groomsmen, in a relaxed setting but with a touch of styled sophistication. We stumbled across this hidden carpark in the backstreets of West End, Brisbane, and just knew that we had to take advantage of the incredible street art!

Against the striking backdrop, we created an opulent outdoor lounge area, complete with lush florals and an immaculately presented cigar bar, with a generous picnic hamper provided by Village Food & Events. The Gathering Events caravan bar was the perfect accompaniment, serving Australian craft beers and top-shelf whiskies to our lucky gents. The real life groom-to-be and his mates enjoyed a guided whisky tasting, learning about the delicacies of the different single malt varieties. The whisky bar featured gorgeous vintage crystal decanters, props and florals, accented with stunning calligraphy labels, signage and stationery from You’re My Type.

The gents were also treated to a customised box of manly treats from Wood & Beau – presenting the perfect opportunity for the groom to ask them to be a part of his wedding day!

It was such a pleasure to be able to help these lovely guys celebrate their friendship and spend some quality time together in the lead-up to the groom’s big day.”
