Leah + Adam: Exotic Balinese Wedding

Rich, tropical, textured greens; fab views; and the sweet, sweet promise of love. Leah and Adam’s Bali wedding photographed by Courtney Illfield was truly an exotic shindig. We thought we would take a look at some of the special details of their day, and particularly the lead-up to it:

The Rosy Proposal

Leah: “Adam proposed to me in Bali, it was one of the best moments of my life. He was so romantic. I had no idea he was going to propose, I still cannot believe he was able to keep it a secret!

Adam had booked the W hotel in Seminyak and had it all planned. Our room was amazing it had beautiful views of the ocean and a roof over our bathroom that opened up to the sky. One night we returned to the hotel, and I walked into our room to find it covered in roses – it was so beautiful. There were rose petals leading from the doorway into the room forming the words ‘I love you’ with more and more roses covering the room, and on the bed the words will you marry me were written with rose petals, I have never been so surprised in my life! I still cannot believe how sweet and romantic he was.”

The Moment They Knew

After being lifelong friends, it seems like these two naturally fell into being lifelong sweethearts.

Leah: “Adam and I have known each other for most of lives, growing up our families were friends. From play-dates with my brothers when they were toddlers to coming away on family holidays as teenagers, Adam and I have been a part of each other’s lives for a very long time.

Though it wasn’t until we were older, I was starting university and Adam had moved back to our home town and we started spending more time together that we realised we felt something more than just friendship.

It just felt so right, Adam was actually the first guy I had ever loved and I just knew I couldn’t live without him. Life is truly better when we are together. We have now been together for 9-plus years.”

The Vows

Leah: “Our vows, they were such beautiful and intimate words and a lifelong promise to each other. It was an incredible and one of our most memorable moments shared with our closest friends and family, never have I felt so much love in the air and so many happy tears shed. It really was the most incredible day of our lives.”

Love is a Choice

Adam: “I love the way she makes me laugh, even when I’m grumpy.”

Leah: “I love how close he is to his family and that he would do anything for them. He also loves my family, even though they’re crazy!”

Adam: “She will sleep by my side and put up with my snoring.”

Leah: “He will text me every night that we may be apart to say goodnight and to tell me that he loves me.”

Adam: “I love the way she makes me feel, even a phone call on the way home from work can make my day better.”

Leah: “He will also eat whatever I make, even when it’s a complete disaster, which my cooking is more often than not.”

Adam: “I can’t imagine my life without Leah. She means the world to me and I love her so much. She is my best friend.”
