Enchanted Garden Wedding

Brett and Briony both knew in their hearts that there was something special about the connection that they shared. So on their first overseas trip in Italy, Brett proposed! It was the second last day and they were in their final destination at Lake Como. The pair hired a small boat for the afternoon, and with the stunning mountains as a backdrop and the sun shining, Brett popped the question. “If you can’t find a romantic moment in Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Venice to propose then where can you find one?!” Brett joked. Well, it turns out that Lake Como was the answer. For the previous three days he had been dying to ask Briony to marry him, but had been waiting for the right moment. And Lake Como delivered.

The couple began planning their wedding around the aesthetics of the Butter Factory, their location for both the ceremony and the reception. With a dash of country and a hint of vintage in Briony’s beautiful lace wedding dress, the elegant garden wedding was exactly what the newlyweds wanted.

Their vows took place under the shade of trees, the sun twinkling through the leaves to cast romantic hues on the ceremony.

“My absolute favourite part of the wedding was when Russ announced us as ‘Australia’s newest married couple, Briony & Brett!'” Briony said. “With Ray La Montagne’s ‘You are the Best Thing’ playing, we made our way to friends and family for hugs and kisses.”

Surrounded by greenery, the reception boasted luscious florals in both the bouquets and table settings, gorgeous, long wooden tables, overhead fairy lights, and a joyful atmosphere. It even featured a unique table dedicated to the loved ones who couldn’t be there for the big day. “We put a table together with photos of relatives who are no longer with us,” Briony said. “It was our ‘past and great loves’ table. It was nice to think that they were present with us on our special day.”

Completely captivated by each other, the newlyweds are looking forward to creating a marriage of fun, love, and respect that feels like home.
