Elvi Design: Emergence

Alternative Perth Bridal Designer presents their 2016 Bespoke Bridal Collection, ‘Emergence’.

Elvi Design is well known in Perth as the ‘go-to’ bridal studio for brides seeking something alternative to ‘off-the-rack’ wedding gowns at traditional bridal boutiques. Working with Perth brides over the past five years, Sandra has remained focused on designing and creating bespoke wedding gowns from high quality materials to suit each of her individual clients.

Elvi Design’s 2016 Bespoke Bridal Collection was inspired by the idea of transformation. Each gown in the collection was carefully thought out and created so that a component can be added or removed to achieve a different look. This is ideal for brides looking for a design that can change from ceremony to reception. Using a variety of luxurious fabrics such as silk, soft tulle, French lace and beaded lace, Sandra designed a range of gowns to complement different body shapes and styles, in silhouettes from soft and floaty to fitted and structured.  Each design is available made-to-measure in the Elvi Design studio.

For the launch, Sandra teamed up with Perth creatives, Loren of Nectarine Photography and Brook Parker of Pretty Parlour to create an intimate, moody shoot at the Guildford Hotel. The historic building was destroyed by fire in 2008 and recently re-opened after extensive restoration work. The beautiful exposed brickwork, windows and timber floors provided the perfect backdrop for the photo shoot.

From the designer…

“Every week we meet with brides and it became apparent to me that women are looking for ways to change their look throughout their wedding day. They are looking for gowns with detail and a touch of drama for their ceremony, before changing into something less formal for their reception. I decided this could easily be achieved with the same gown by removing a layer, whether it be a separate tulle skirt or a lace overlay with sleeves! I also wanted to provide a design for brides who were simply opting for a ‘minimal’ look, which has become a popular choice recently. I think it’s important to remember that ‘less is more’ sometimes.”
