Elegant + Simple: TarraWarra Estate Wedding

1

TarraWarra Estate served as the perfect venue for Amy + Matt’s simple and modern wedding. We especially love the delicate florals and the understated elegance of Amy’s gown. Their summer cocktail celebration ended with dancing the night away under the fairy lights and a gelato cart. (A perfect ending if you ask us.) Keep reading to get to know Amy + Matt and see more from their day!

Tell us about your proposal. It was in Queenstown, NZ a bit over a year ago. Matt was riding over there for a week before I got there and the day after I arrived he had planned a day of sightseeing. We went for a very early morning walk around the lake and when we got to this gorgeous jetty, I walked out to take some photos and when I turned around Matt had descended on one knee! After we had called our families back home, he had organised a beautiful degustation lunch at Amisfield winery. It was one of the best days ever; the love and happiness was through the roof. And the best part was we had a week in NZ together to really take it all in and celebrate.

How did you know your partner was the one? Right from the beginning everything was just so effortless, we fit right into each other’s lives and families and things just progressed naturally. I think when you get to the point of being completely yourselves around each other and still adore each other – that is a defining moment.

What do you love most about your partner? He is the kindest, the most grounded and most genuine man I have ever known. We are on the same page with our values and ambitions and just generally have a really good time living life together.

What was your favourite part of the wedding day? The ceremony was pretty epic. Shannon created the perfect vibe which had us and our friends/ family laughing and crying. Being able to share our personal vows in front of our nearest and dearest was next level. Dancing the night away to Andy’s music was also up there…and the weather, we had a perfect summers evening which meant we could be outside for most of it – we had a cocktail reception which worked perfectly.

Describe your wedding theme/style. A big celebration, relaxed vibe, amazing food and wine…and dancing! We tried to create the vibe that reflects us as a couple, everything and everyone we had there we absolutely love and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.

What is marriage to you? Sharing the highs and lows of life together. Having someone to support, challenge and encourage you to be the best version of yourself. Mutual love and respect. Having someone to come home to that keeps a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.
