Eclectic romance in Singapore

4

Upon arriving at the super eclectic and chic New Majestic Hotel in Singapore’s Chinatown, we knew we were in for something extra special.

For those who are passionate about design, this hotel is the epitome of style meets art (meets fun!). From the period-inspired lobby with restored vintage Compton fans and the dramatic pool with glass inserts floating above the restaurant, to the selection of period colonial furniture from Singapore’s colourful past, the New Majestic Hotel offers a surprise around every corner.

The interaction with the hotel’s friendly staff, and thoughtful services they provided, including welcome gifts or personalised digital devices to help navigate the city, were all cleverly thought out and inspired to enhance the experience.

With 30 unique rooms, there’s bound to be something which will feed that inner spark and and fuel a night to remember. Each room has been playfully designed by Singaporean creatives from unique disciplines, such as film, theatre, fashion and graphic design. With rooms identified by name rather than number, you can only imagine what you’re going to experience – names like “Fluid”, “Fly Away” and “Mirror” are sure to keep you guessing.

We stayed in “Fly Away”, which featured a cute loft sleeping area, wispy illustrations, retro furniture and views over the porthole pool. Everything felt like it was carefully planned and considered: Kiehls bathroom products, quality linen, soft furnishings – all the details you’d be happy to see in your own home.

With an early morning flight the next day, the staff were thoughtful to organise a breakfast feast in cute lunchboxes to take on our trip. This just topped off an amazing experience and left us feeling all warm and fuzzy!

Thanks New Majestic Hotel for the great memories and we look forward to seeing you again!
