What was your inspiration for the business? Nowadays lots of couples live together before they move so have a lot of items in the home so we want couples to have the really special pieces that they have been eying off.The Wedding Nest offer couples the pieces found in interiors magazines, blogs and design homeware shops. We really wanted a collection off gifts that guests would be happy purchasing as they know the couples really wanted those items!
How did you go about starting up? luckily lots of friends and family were getting married at the time so we could build up valuable experience and also receive lots of feedback.
What kind of bride are you trying to reach? The design savvy couples who like unique and different items. We have a lots of different price points and guests can contribute an amount to gifts over $300 so I feel lots of our couples are concerned about guests not feeling obliged to spend to much.
What do you love about your job? Happy couples and sourcing new products! It is also really nice when we have good feedback from the guests about the products and usability.
What does marriage mean to you? A way of celebrating your love for your partner with family and friends. And really cementing the partnership for life.
Tell us about your favourite experience as a business owner? Watching the business grow and having really good feedback from couples is definitely my favourite part.
