Clean + Simple Wedding Styling for the Minimalist Bride

1

Minimalism was such a stark contrast to what came before in the art world, and has now had a lasting impact on everyday living. Abstract art proposed distractions, hidden meanings, and purposeful confusion. Minimalism, presented simplistic beauty and purposeful clarity. To quote Donald Judd,

“A shape, a volume, a colour, a surface is something itself. It shouldn’t be concealed as part of a fairly different whole.”

These images portray the minimalist movement in the modern woman. In her confidence she pushes out all distractions, and chooses to focus on simplistic beauty.

We chose to highlight this story by using a clean colour palette of mostly light cool tones: green, grey, white. The tablescape consisted of organic ceramic placements and linens accented by fresh sprigs of greenery and minimal blooms. Our peaceful bride wore a simple pantsuit with natural hair and makeup. We wanted to emphasise the importance of a “no frills” wedding.
