Caitlin + Will: Hearts in Tuscany

What better way to celebrate this gorgeous change in weather than to be whisked away to the sunniest place on earth to witness the wedding of a lifetime? Caitlin and Will were married on a hilltop in Tuscany and were blessed enough to have their reception in a 13th century Italian Castello. Just, wow. We must take our hats off to Katch Silva for bringing her incredible talent all the way to Tuscany to snap up these amazing pictures. Here are a few words from the stunning bride about how this memorable day eventuated and a little taste of the story of Caitlin and Will so far.

Tell us a little about Caitlin and Will.

Will and I met in Queens. He’s a dual citizen from Kent, England, and I’m originally from North Carolina but had been living in New York for years. When he proposed during Super Bowl Sunday (we’ll never forget our anniversary), we’d been living together almost four years. He’s a darling man who plays music all night long. I just graduated with my Masters in Classical Acting. We love going to dinners together, the zoo, and the library, and taking long car trips whenever we can.

How did this gorgeous day come together?

We tried not to work against the natural beauty of everything. Everything about the space was so ancient and gritty with raw beauty, so we tried to use materials that were texturally very interesting. My family and friends and I spent the day before the wedding collecting branches and pine cones from the field behind the Castello, and spray-painted them gold for the dinner table arrangements. Will’s female relatives spent all day cutting and stringing the tissue garlands that hung in the dance hall. Really, though, the space made itself.

What are your favourite memories from the day?

My two favorite memories from our day are standing with my mom and dad before we walked across the field to meet my new husband. And at the end of the night, walking into the darkness with a sparkler before realizing Will was the figure running to meet me in the light.
