Tell us about your proposal. It all happened on New Years Eve 2016, beginning with a trip to Maleny Dairies. Following this, Murray proposed on one knee overlooking Lake Baroon in Montville, followed by a celebration with a degustation lunch at the Long Apron restaurant. We were so lucky to be able to celebrate with friends that night at one of their apartments watching the fireworks over the story bridge In Brisbane. Hands down the best New Years Eve we’ve ever had!

How did you know your partner was the one? Murray and I clicked straightaway over late shifts at work. I instantly had butterflies in my tummy from the first time we met and the feelings only grew stronger when I realised how much he appreciated my silliness. Murray is always the first one to encourage anyone to be themself. I have never felt so free when I’m with him and that was an immediate feeling.

What do you love most about your partner? There are so many things I love about Murray it’s hard to sum it up. Yet, I think something that really stands out is how much Murray cares about me. He would do anything for me. I always feel safe around him and he is the most loyal man I know… Oh and he makes the best vegemite sandwiches.

What was your favourite part of the wedding day? For me it was during the couple portraits. We had them done on site and our guests were an ear’s shot away.  We had so many beautiful quiet conversations just between the two of us, but at the same time we could feel the love and enjoyment from all of our friends and family. That sensation was incredible, to be surrounded by so much warmth and joy, yet feeling like it was just the two of us at the same time.

Describe your wedding theme/style. Fun, loving, relaxed and delicious. This was all we wanted from our day and we got exactly what we asked for. Our families, friends, the venue and vendors made this happen and we couldn’t be more grateful.

What is marriage to you? Before we got married, we weren’t really sure if it would change much in our relationship. However, since the big day our bond has become so much stronger and like nothing else we have experienced. Marriage is a partnership where both teams engage in love, giving, compromise and a strong loyalty to each other. We absolutely love being married.
