A simply sweet wedding: Jade + Ben

2

“Ben and I fell for each other hard and fast. There was no need for games and when we were apart, we found ourselves wondering why. Very early on there was almost an unspoken understanding between us that this was the real deal. For me, the moment when home went from being a place, to being Ben, I knew he was the one.”

Jade and Ben wed with a crisp white wedding accented by gorgeous rose-gold details. The bride had such a clear vision for her day, and after 19 months of planning, their wedding went off without a hitch. Learn more about this sweet pair and their beautiful day below:

Tell us about your proposal.
We were in Noosa for a long weekend with our close friends. Ben had a planned a grand proposal that was to take place during a long lunch on Sunday at Bistro C. On the Saturday morning, Ben and I went to breakfast at our favourite spot, right on the beach. It was a perfect Noosa morning and as we sat looking out at the ocean Ben decided he couldn’t wait for tomorrow. Telling me he needed to go to the bathroom, he sprinted back to the apartment to get the ring, calling our friends on the way to ensure they were ready and waiting to film the moment. With the ring in his pocket, he returned to the table a little bit sweaty and didn’t eat any of his breakfast. I, usually super observant, was too happy with my coffee and the view to even notice something was up. After breakfast we walked out onto the boardwalk on the beach and he grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him. At that moment our friends came walking towards us filming and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I have never felt happiness like that before. We quickly decided that 9am was a perfectly reasonable time to drink champagne!!

What do you love most about your partner?
Everything! We all have a ‘perfect on paper guy’ and Ben is mine. I didn’t even think they existed! He is well spoken, intelligent, warm and generous. He has a wicked sense of humour and he talks awkwardly to strangers in lifts so I don’t have to. He is also 6 ft 5 and very handsome.

What was your favourite part of the wedding day?
I squeezed my Dad’s arm tight as we turned the corner to face our closest family and friends. My eyes found Ben’s at the end of the aisle and I have never felt so much love. He was looking at me the way I’d always imagined. In fact, it was so much better.

Describe your wedding theme.
I always wanted a white wedding. And by white, I mean all white everything. I love the clean, fresh, sophistication of white. I’m also a little rose gold obsessed so there were subtle touches of rose gold metallic throughout.

What was your favourite detail?
I was literally obsessed with every detail of our day so this is tough. It would have to be the rose gold candle favours that my beautiful bride tribe helped me hand make with love. I had such a clear vision for how I wanted our day to look and I fussed over perfecting it for 19 months. Seeing it all come together on the day was a pretty amazing feeling.

What is marriage to you?
Marriage to us is the ultimate partnership of love, friendship and trust. It is celebrating and sharing the good times, and supporting and encouraging each other through the bad times. Marriage is finding someone who feels like home and a promise to never give up on each other.
