A desert styled elopement

Deanna and Wylie were married recently but tragically, their wedding photographer lost a lot of their photos. Hallea Events and Sam and Sola Lee Photo heard their story and saw an opportunity to help them re-capture some of their big day moments by putting together this styled shoot. They were even able to re-read their vows to each other which we loved hearing and really made it feel like an elopement.

For this shoot/faux elopement, we wanted to create something different - which is why we chose the outdoors and a boho theme to go with the desert look. This gave us the freedom to think outside the box in terms of how we wanted to shape this shoot, letting us use as much or as little space as we wanted. Most wedding day photos are shot in pristine weather conditions but this boho elopement styled shoot aimed to be different, so why not add in a bit of a challenge to get some awesome photos? Vantage Point, WA is very windy. The wind was difficult to work with but nonetheless we reached our goal with some gorgeous shots for our bride and groom to look back at.

One of our favorite DIY items was the arch. We brought together and pieced a beautiful yet simple arch with half copper terrarium holders and airplants on a sunny, windy day. This meant that we had to tie each airplant into the terrarium - and its a lot more difficult than it sounds! Working with the elements and bringing in a boho theme made our bride and groom as well as our fringe pieces look so cool as well!
